! Intro/Background

The check_mysql_slave plugin allows you to check that a particular MySQL replication slave is running and (coming soon) is within a threshold bytes or seconds behind its master.

This project includes:

check_mysql_slave - connects to a MySQL replication slave and checks its status
check_mysql_slave_epn - same script but modified to work with Nagios EPN

Documentation:

http://www.openparty.net/2008/software/NagiosCheckMysqlSlave/check_mysql_slave.html

Features of check_smtp_send:
* works with MySQL versions 3.23, 4.1, and 5.0

I use these plugins on my networks so I\'m open to suggestions for improvements and to assist you with some difficulties if you use these plugins.

The plugin is documented with perl POD. Use the --help option to view it or see the manual.
! MySQL
!! Generate SQL statements to create a copy of a specific database (for making a sample etc)

mysqldump $dbname > $dbname.sql

!! Create the new database using above SQL statements
By the way, \"localhost\" in the above statements should match the FIRST entry for 127.0.0.1 in /etc/hosts. So if you have an entry like \"127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain\" then you should use that instead, or change your hosts file to have \"loca

I really like D.J. Bernstein\'s TinyDNS server (see http://cr.yp.to/).

Here is a complete installation script that works on Fedora 9. Execute it as root. You\'ll want to edit the first two lines to contain your name and the IP address to which TinyDNS should bind to listen for connections:

MYNAME=\'First Last\'
DNSIP=\'11.22.33.44\'

# reference: http://cr.yp.to

# create /package folder for djb\'s programs
mkdir -p /package
chmod 1755 /package

# install daemontools
cd /package
wget http://cr.yp.to/daemontools/daemontools-0.76.tar.gz
gunzip -c daemontools-0.76.tar.gz | tar xf -
cd admin/daemontools-0.76
cp src/error.h src/error.h.original
sed -e \"s/extern int errno;/#include <errno .h>/\" src/error.h.original > src/error.h
package/install
mail djb-sysdeps@cr.yp.to < /package/admin/daemontools/compile/sysdeps

# install ucspi-tcp
cd /package
wget http://cr.yp.to/ucspi-tcp/ucspi-tcp-0.88.tar.gz
gunzip -c ucspi-tcp-0.88.tar.gz | tar xf -
cd ucspi-tcp-0.88
